Who Can Vote
To vote in Toronto municipal elections, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Canadian citizen
- 18 years or older on Election Day
- Resident of Toronto, or a non-resident who owns or rents property in Toronto (or whose spouse owns or rents property in Toronto)
- Not prohibited from voting under any law
See If You're on the Voters' List
Starting September 1, eligible voters can use the City of Toronto's official MyVote tool to check, add, update, or confirm their information on the voters' list.
The online deadline to add or update voters' list information is Sunday, October 11 at 7 p.m.After this time, voters can only make changes at the voting place when they go to vote on election day.
Voters can also add their name to the voters' list in person during advance voting or on election day.

How to Register / Update Your Information
Beginning September 1, eligible voters can use MyVote or contact Toronto Elections / 311 to confirm, add, or update their information on the voters' list.
Online or By Phone
Use the City of Toronto's official MyVote tool or call 311 to add or update your information before the October 11 at 7 p.m. deadline.
At a Voting Place
You can also add your name to the voters' list in person during advance voting or on election day with acceptable ID showing your name and qualifying Toronto address.

Advance voting is available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Starting September 1, use the City of Toronto's MyVote tool to check where to vote.
Mail-in Voting
Requests begin September 1, 2026. The deadline to request Mail-in Voting is September 24, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. Completed Mail-in Voting packages must be received by Toronto Elections by October 14, 2026 at 12 p.m. noon.
ID Requirements
You must show one piece of acceptable identification showing your name and qualifying Toronto address. Photo ID is not required. A passport cannot be used as ID because it does not show your address.
